Jesus: Who He Is and Why He Matters

Jesus of Nazareth is the most significant figure in history, not just because of what he said and did, but because of who He is. The Bible reveals Jesus as both fully God and fully man, sent to bring salvation to humanity. Who is Jesus?

The Son of God: Jesus is described in John 1:1,14 as the Word who was with God in the beginning and who became flesh. He is God’s Son, uniquely divine. The Savior: Jesus came to save people from sin and restore their relationship with God. John 3:16 famously says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

The Teacher and Healer: During His time on earth, Jesus taught about God’s kingdom, love, and forgiveness. He healed the sick, gave hope to the hopeless, and showed compassion to all.

The Resurrected Lord: Jesus’ death on the cross was a sacrifice for sin, but the story didn’t end there. He rose from the dead on the third day (Luke 24:6-7), conquering death and promising eternal life to those who believe in Him.Why does Jesus matter? He offers forgiveness and new life: Because of Jesus, people can be forgiven for their wrongs and start fresh (2 Corinthians 5:17). He reveals God’s love: Jesus shows us how deeply God loves every person, offering grace and mercy even when we don’t deserve it (Romans 5:8).

He gives hope beyond this life: Belief in Jesus means hope beyond death, a promise of eternal life with God (John 11:25-26). He changes lives: Following Jesus transforms hearts and priorities, leading to peace, joy, and purpose (Galatians 2:20). Jesus is not just a historical figure; He is alive and active, inviting everyone into a relationship with Him. Knowing Jesus means knowing a God who loves unconditionally and has the power to change lives. Would you like to explore more about Jesus’ teachings or how to begin a personal relationship with Him?
